I got to demo a RMK 800 155 yesterday and I have to say I am super impressed.....well, the words I used on the mountain were a little explicative!! :D

I love this sled.... it lays over with ease, holds a line without much effort at all, is very flickable, and just over all a fun sled to ride.

If I like everything...I don't like 2 things:

  • The boards gotta go and get some Better Boards installed, I was in 2 ft of POW most of the day and was constantly having to kick snow out of the boards.
  • Upshifting.....There seems to be a pronounced clunk up shifting while not under power, like the helix is not engaging smoothly. I loved how it will stay lower coming down a long steep grade, but when I blip the throttle to power up and accelerate its not smooth at all.
That being said I love this sled, Wait...I already said that :D.

I love the RMK for the Reg style bars and the add'l front cooler over the Pro
I love the Pro for the shock package over the RMK

Can anyone give me any real world experiences in the differences & performances between the RydeFX and the Walker Evans on these sleds.

Best mod sled feeling, Straight out the crate!
mtn horse did a post on the walkers, revalving I think..
And Agree strongly on your two negitives

So, after a second ride on the sled, I am totally sold. In looking thru the forums, there are a few minor mods to do...venting, boards, powder/fuel keg, etc. Other than that I'm going to ride this thing stock!

I have decided on a RMK 155 , but with the Pro shock package for a couple reasons.

  1. Add'l front cooler on RMK
  2. Original handle bars
The main factor in the decision was the add'l cooler. The front cooler works great for where we tend to ride, we have to run groomed or regular trails a long way in to get to where we ride. I don't have to worry about scratchers and the add'l 20 lbs is nominal, IMO. I rode 5 miles of trails on Sat and never got above 130
I do like the Walker coil overs better than the RydeFX's.

This gives me the best of both worlds. I have the same performance as a Pro but on a sled more geared to my riding areas.

This brings up a big question........Why do I mainly just see posts on here about the Pro and not many, if any, about the RMK?

There are differences, yes, but minor at best.
