What is a 1954 Chev 2 door hardtop worth? It is in good restorable shape. The interior is pretty much shot. The body has very little to no rust and is straight. The bumpers and moldings are going to need to be replaced. It has a straight 6 in it that was started 2 years ago but has not ran since then. It would be a good project car if someone is interested in these cars. I might get rid of it but I have no idea what a fair price is. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks

I was looking to buy a 49 a couple weeks ago. I saw a few for around 4k.. (chopped but not finished)

I think this one would classify as not even started but it is in good shape for a place to start. I don't think it would be worth that much. Unless someone was offering I would definetly let it go for that. I should get a pic to show you guys.

Without actually seeing a few pics of one you really could not tell what the value is on it, tops I would say 3k IF it ran and was in that shape. The 2 door post is pretty desireable, makes a great street rod.... I would ask for 2,500 if it is in pretty good shape with no damaging rust.

Here's a pic of my '53, PM me if you have any more specific questions on these cars...

That is a good clean looking car. I was kind of thinking between 2 and 2500 for mine. Which sounds like I may be inline with what it would go for. Thanks for the input.

Note, if it is still intact, yuo can sell some of it off seperate for a lot more.

Grills on these things are hard to find, if the fins are good sell them seperate as most guys use them for lead sleds like mercs and what not, even if you have only one good fin they will catc good value. Chrome trim is also hard to find on good shape, check for the trim around the headlights, trim down the side of the car, bumpers, etc.

Original hubcaps, oem parts in the engine area that are in good shape, etc. You might be able to make a little more money selling sme of these parts seperate, but don't strip it down like a field car I guess, weigh out your options with what you got....

Just noticed you are from ND, a good place o sell it would be sites such as bismanonline.com and stuff like that, free and lots of exposure for classics on there.... I'm on there all the time...

I thought about the part out option already. I am sure as with most vehicles I could get more money all said and done. The problem is I have way to many projects already and a couple of young kids so it makes my garage time pretty slim these days. I think I am going to get it cleaned up and listed for sale in a couple weeks. I have bought a few things off bismanonline in the past. It is a good site to move items.

As much as I would want to pick this up from you and make some quick cash on it, I can't do it to a fellow snowester from ND. Your best bet would be to throw it on craigslist in the Minneapolis listing area. You shouldn't have much trouble getting $3-3500 for it.

Thanks for the idea. I think I will try that.

If you do put it on craigslist you might want to describe it accurately, it is not a 2 door hardtop the pics are of a 2 door post sedan. Great looking vehicle though, definately worth 3 or better. Swampy:beer;

X2, that right there is what they called a "210 2 door post", based off of the trimline that is present, describe it as best you can, looks like good chrome teeth fins, and even though the paint looks to be hiding some cancer, should still be able to get some good money out of it. Selling it in Mini. is a great idea, large cities have a harder time finding iron, and the market for even stripped cars is a lot higher.
