18 Tooth top gear??

Anyone running an 18T top sprocket?

I'm installing a 3.0" pitch Powerclaw and the 3.0" pitch Carl's (by Avid) drivers are slightly larger.

I was going to gear down to a 19 before... now with the bigger drivers maybe an 18T.

Polaris doesn't list 18T on their possible gear ratios but I happen to have an 18T here and I put in on and there was enough threads on the chain adjuster to take up the slack. Granted the chain looked sort of like a kidney shaped pool but the tensioner block was curved to assume that shape.

I ran an 18T Hyvo on my Nytro with no problems.

Opinions? Anyone run a 18T on a ProRMK?

Thanks,
Murph

Yes

I have run 18 and 43 on my 900(when i had it... by the way its still running and nobody ever had engine apart) and it worked very well. The best thing you can do is put a sharpie marker line inside your clutch sheaves and run to see how much of your transmission you are using during normal riding. I would think that 19 and 43 will be your wise choice. Hope this helps

I tried one, no issues. but went back to the 19. Also tired 18/43. Good snap but with my clutching the stock gearing worked best. Just depends what you like.

Again not a Pro, but I have been running 18/39 gearing in my 900 for the last 1700 miles... no issues:beer;

18 tooth

I'm hoping to get a PRO this week and i will be putting on my 18/46 that i've been running in my 07/700.
Had my gears out friday night, they looked great for 4000+ miles.
As for hype about 18s not lasting and being hard on chains well, you'll
have to draw your oun conclusion.
The pro will be the forth sled the 18s been on.
I'll keep you posted.

Sorry, never mind this post i run a Paragon so it will be irrelevant for most!

Ran the Pro hard today in heavy pow. Super heavy.

At first I thought I'm geared waaaayyy too short.

Big RPM's but no forward momentum. Then I rode with a stock Pro and his actual speed was pretty slow also in the heavy snow.

Keep in mind I'm running an 18T to gear but my drivers are oversized because they are 3.0" pitch for a Powerclaw.

With 11-60 weights, Team Yellow primary (120-340), and black/Purple secondary--first time I have seen 8400rpm in deep snow pulling hard.

May need to go to 19T to keep the sled off the limiter.

Overall ran great and am happy.

Stoked on the Powerclaw.

I am probly wrong here but when I put 3 pitch drivers in my 07 dargon so that I could run Camo CE in 08 before the 2.86 was available i could swear the 3 pitch were smaller in diameter??

Not wrong. Just wrong in this case. More than likely you went with the 7 tooth 3.0" pitch drivers so that you could clear the 2.5" Camo Extreme. I stayed with 8 tooth since the PC is 2.25" lugs. That is why they are slightly bigger.
