Just looking for opinions on this track. I found a brand new one, and was thinking of upgrading from a 151 x 16 x 2. Price is descent? (500.00) and I allready have 10" 2.52 drivers so it should almost bolt right in with extensions.

I have 2 seasons on my 900 with a 166... I have no real complaints about the track other than it does slide a bit when on the brakes. Just be sure not to sustain a speed over 60 mph for any length of time to prevent delamination... Short bursts of anything you want to give it are perfectly fine of course.

All in all I consider it a really good track personally.

Not sure on price, I've never shopped for a replacement.

Wow, so they have a delamination problem if held over 60 for a long period of time? This track probably wouldn't hold up very good to a turbo of any sort then would it?

No, they delaminated if you ran them fast down a low snow trail. If you run them at high track speed, like on a turbo, in the powder they are fine.

In my opinion, the 2.52 pitch Polaris Series IV 2.4" track... the one you are looking at, is the best track available for powder riding. I ran the 166 for 2 season on my 910 and it was awesome. I now run a 159 in the same track because I wanted a little shorter one. I have a 151 on my 660.

I would post this in the general forum.

There are not many options for a 166 track.

Maybe look at going to a standard track length or even keep the 151 and see what is offered today.

Afterall the 166 track technology for the 900 is at least 5 years old .... track technology has really improved over the last 5 years.

166 track will make the sled much harder to maneuver in the trees. If you ride deep powder and big hills get it. If you boondock through the trees a lot you might want to consider something between 155 and 163.

i have 3 rmk 900s with the 166 track...1 stock 900, 1 975 big bore, and 1 900 turbo...and the 166 track is GREAT...

the series IV track is one of the best mountain tracks ever made, period...

yes the delamination stuff is true...i have been up to 80mph alot...maybe 20 seconds max each time, but who drag races in the mountains...I CLIMB and BOONDOCK and have ZERO issues, and LOVE the track!! ;)

if your a flatlander or race...dont get it.

Zero issues except he can not steer them around trees.:face-icon-small-ton

Guido has the hook up for bumpers if you run it into every tree in the forest.:face-icon-small-coo

I run a 166.

Go big or go Home----

Is that what that meant? Run a 166? I thought it meant get a bigger engine and Guido did too. Dang, guess I should have got a 166 instead of a Turbo 975..lol

Oh wait I do have a 166.:faint:
