I'll tell you the same thing they told me. You live in Utah - we all ride the 163. :face-icon-small-hap

With fantastic snow like ours - there really isn't any other option!!!

If you like to ride trails and open fields 155. If you like to get in deep draws and tight trees with untouched powder 163.

Boondocker =155 point and shoot = 163

Look at what Chris Burdant is riding this year? 155 he gets them free and has a turbo yet he chooses a 155. That should tell you something

He would ride a 121 if they made them in Pro RMK. I'll stick to the 163 in the trees.

Burandt is back to a 155 only stayed on 163 for one year. He talked about it somewhere but 155 tended to wash out more on side hill than 163 but he like the flick ability of a 155.

Burandt is running 163's now. So is Dan Adams. Go 163, you won't regret it

Burandt is back on a 155 this year, not a 163. I was at his place the other day. It comes down to a personal preference thing in my opinion. Some people like the added floatation and control that it gives you of the 163, some like the challenge and more playful feeling the 155 gives. Ride what works for you is what it comes down to. I know your buddy is buying soon, but the best way is to ride them both.

It would certainly be nice if BURANDTS name didnt have to come up whenever people talk about sleds or riding. Who cares what BURANDT rides ? I certainly dont.

Personally i would buy both, each has its advantages. There is no perfect sled for all conditions, Thats a fact !

If you dont believe me ask MR. "BURANDT

This of course is just my opinion

Have a nice day

BURANDT

HUH!! That's like saying "I don't care if everyone is telling me that the crankshaft in the new Ford's are failing or the transmission doesn't get past 50,000 k", I'm going to buy it anyway and be sorry later.

163

A lot depends on where you ride. The trees I would not give up the 163 but for high marking on hard snow track speed is king. If your friend is over 220 lbs the 163 would be the way to go IMO.

People can ride what they want but it is people like this who are clueless.
Ride them both and decide which you like better.
155 is more manuverable and the163 has better traction in certain snow.
Don't buy into, you have to have a 163 in Utah.

A few years back I was looking into buying a used XP146. The guy selling was trying to tell me I would have faster track speed and could go anywhere a 154 or 163 goes. I called BS. Point is everyone is going to tell you something different. I personally think (if you had 2 IDENTICAL sleds one 155 and one 163) a 150lb guy on a 155 could out climb a 200lb guy on the 163.

It just depends how, where, when you ride and your size, what you like to do bla bla bla

I emailed Dan Adams last year he said buy a 163 I'll never regret it. I haven't regretted it yet. And yes I'm sick to death about hearing burandt on every freaking form. There are alot of guys as good as him now and if they had his money and camera around. We would all hang it all out if we were being filmed and you know it.

IMO the best track is the 04-07 XP 159. Loved the 159x16

Didn't your girl friend ever tell you this?

You guys have a one track mind. :face-icon-small-dis

Doesn't make any difference if you ride like I do.

It's personal preference. Personally, I ride 155's, both with and without the turbo. I ride 9-13K', in Colorado, and the western US (Deep, Dry snow). Yes, a 163 would give me a little bit better flotation, but it would also hinder the jumping ability of the sled slightly. In addition, I ride a lot of tight trees, and even though it is only a couple inches of total sled length, I feel like I can notice it in the trees. That is my opinion, its free, but it also may not be worth anything anyone else. Form your own, by riding different track lengths and you will be happier than if you just listen to other people telling you what is "best"
