hey guys! im new to snow bikes and I have decided to turn my 16 yz450 into a snow bike. after 25 hrs on the bike and several revalves on the suspension I decided to give up on this bike and turn it into a snow bike. this bike just doesn't work for the type of trail riding I do. my question is what do I need to do to the bike. things the bike already has is a 2.9 gal tank, recluse 3.0, fmf ti4, flex handle bars, scotts steering stabilizer, Baja designs led head light, cooling fan, radiator braces... I no I need to do something with the intake to keep the snow out. what are you guys doing. is there anything else I need to do to the bike? im also torn between the mototrax and the TS leaning more towards the mototrax 129 mountain. I live in ca and will be riding in the Tahoe area.

CR Racing intake, Thermobob thermostat, PR2 ECU, stiffer front suspension,PST blanket for deep days. That will get you pretty close to perfection !

Agreed. Toby Till's pod filter works well also.
I would go timber sled over Mototrax. The Mototrax kit has been having some issues. The timbersled kit will be more plug and play.
If you have the money I would get a CMX or a yeti. That said, the 2017 timbersleds seem to be doing quite well.

Also, your steering stabilizer doesn't do much in the snow. If it'll fit the summer bike but you're thinking about getting then save it for that.

thanks for all the info guys. I did more research on the mototrax and I cant believe all the problems they are having. sometimes looks can be deceiving. looks like im going with the timbersled. timber sled also has the tss install kit. is it really worth all the extra money?

The only thing I'm going to say about intakes is you should really use the stock intake boot. When you call Jeff at PR2 he will tell you his thoughts on this. It makes a difference on the mapping and power etc. Just some food for thought.

TSS

The tss will make for a softer ride and give more of a dirt feel. It makes landing from jumps and drops much nicer too. I will say that i find riding with a fixed strut i can wheelie easier. other that that.... If you got the money get the TSS. After looking at the RAW kits i would be inclined to get one. save you a lot of money. you only loose the paint and gas can mount
