Saw this kid on yahoo yesterday...

6'3, 205 lbs, 16 years old

Can throw 96mph fastballs...plays catcher and throws people out from his knees....

Best of all he has a higher bat speed than Mark McGuire did at his juiciest. Granted he is using a metal bat, rumor is he hit one over 570ft. Saw the highlight and he hits the catwalk above the jumbotron at Trpoicana Field, still the longest HR in that stadium....

Couldn't imagine having those skills at age 16, hell I would love these skills for softball!!! haha
 
Pretty sure it brings things into prespective when you think he is only in Babe Ruth baseball yet, not even HS team....
 
We have been really lucky watching "phenoms" and kids tabbed as "the next big thing" actually live up to the hype (tiger, lebron, Crosby, bubba, etc) lately.

That being said, MANY more times than not sports like baseball and football the phenoms don't pan out. Kid has great skills and I don't mean to be a downer, so hope he stays healthy and continues to improve.
 
After A-roid and company this is great to see. Baseball is in dire need of some real quality new talent! Kid prolly likes apple pie as well!

Babe Ruth baseball hahaha, and he's bouncing HR baseballs off the catwalks over the jumbotron, in a Major League stadium nontheless......

YA! Im 20, and If I could hit a softball past the infield id be hysterical !

So far, ive improved, hitting the ball past the pitcher.. :D
 
A lot of the NHL ers come back to our Gym in the summer, and their sure is a difference in HEAD sizes between a Devon Setoguchi (#16 San Jose) who has been relatively good since early teens and a Kris Versteeg (#32 Chicago) who has had to prove himself........Ego's are bad!!!!!!!!!!!!
