156 Camo extreme on M8?

Who has one? tried to burn the frayed bits in my p claw and ended up burnin a hole in it(stupid I know). But after looking at it Its frayed pretty bad for only havin 450 miles on it. And there not that hard of miles.
So was thinkin about a camo extreme 2.5 156. How well would a stock M8 turn it comapred to a P-claw? How much are they and where could I ge one? Thanks again

Did you just burn the edge back, Or a hole in it? Is the hole toward the edge or in the middle of the track? If it is in the middle and there is enough meat at the edge I would just make it en even hole. It sounds like you don't really like the track? The 2.5 will take more power to turn!

Mike

its on the edge. Hole is maybe 1-1.5 inches in and 3 inches long. Not to to bad. I think the track is still fine. Got lookin after my nervs settled down a bit. I just didn't like how the track looked so warn after hardly any miles on it. I loved how it performed tho

I put the extreme 156 on my 08 M8 and it has plenty of arm pull. I did gear it down to 54/66 as well, but the 800 has more than enough power to turn that track.

It's not the track causing the fraying , thus you stick a 156 Camo on it , it will most likely fray also. Find out why. It gets tight up near the rear susp mounting brackets and there are some rivets sticking out too far that may be causing this. There was some discussion on here to that effect. Also , I think running with ice scratchers down can speed up the fraying process also.

Put a 156 camo extreme on my GF's sled and it works awsome.Sled is stock except for a can and clutching.

Just keep your eye out on the 4m swap for one, I recently replaced the A20 on my backup sled with one I bought off the 4m. The track was missing one lug but, that was OK cost me $245 shipped!:D All I had to do was re-glue it with trusty E6000 and it's good to go!:beer;

I have a 153" PC on my main sled and like it allot but, I think I like the CE 156" more!:beer; Although the PC feels much lighter when flickin the sled around. I SUGGEST HAVING BOTH TRACKS!:D
BUT NEITHER OF THE SLEDS ARE STOCK!

I have a 156x2,5 CE on a M1200 and its the best track I have used for our type of snow. How I see it if you ride mostly on more set snow the CE is best. And if riding in pow most of the time the PC is outstanding. But the CE is better quality and will last longer. Then you have the HCR track witch is something in between.

That track looks familar, glad it worked out for ya. Budd

I have a 162" x 16" CE on my RX-1 and a 153" PC on my M8. The RX-1 NEEDED a big wide track to make it float but, boy oh boy does it float great now and with the CE it rockets out of a powder actually lifting the front end of that portly sled into the air in the deep stuff.

In similar fashion, the PC on my M8 seems to dig into the powder (but it seems to sink more than my CE) and often times when I think the sled is going to sink out of sight, the PC hooks up on a layer of snow several feet down and saves the sled from sinking.

The CE is like the M1000. It's a little bit on the heavy side and it's not fancy or frilly but, it flat out works.

The PC is more like a M8. It a little lighter and seems to use more finesse (vs. brute force) to coherse the snow into doing what it wants it to do.

Bottom line is: they both work well yet use completely different techniques to achieve success.

I do have a couple of questions.

Is there enough adjustment on the rear axle to be able to run a 156" track without rail extensions?

Also, it looks like it fits well without any tunnel extension, Right?

How about up front around the front axle? Is there enough clearance to run the CE without any trimming required?

What's the weight difference between a 153" PC and a 156" CE?

I put a 156 on my GF's 153 M8 without rail ext.I have about 1/2 inch left for adjustment. I did a tunnel ext because I dont like the stock bumper.I also trimmed a VERY small amount off the outside edge of the paddles so they would not hit the alum cooler lines that run down the side of the tunnel.I know others have run this setup without any track trimming and it still works fine.

On the 08 M8 we had to reverse the track clips and cut the outside drive lugs down so as not to hit the diamond drive.I belive the newer sleds don't have this prob.

I will be running the 156 CE on all my sleds from now on.I have used every track out there and this one seems to give me the best ALL AROUND performance. Is it the best in all conditions? No.Some other tracks might be better in certain cond but the CE works good in most all cond.
