so Ive spent alot of time talking about this and came to the same answer ever time .
1. in deep snow it pays to be long
2. in trees it pays to be long
3. in spring like heavy snow track speed is more important than length so the 153 should and seems to work better
4. a good rider can and will turn a 162 as tight as a 153 or a 144.
5. if you do alot of jumping the shorter track is nicer...( less mass, less levrage... just jumps easyer)
6. on trails and lakes the short track is faster. (less mass)
so I beleave it is not what track is better but what do you ride... and if you say everything or a little of everything then go long if you say mostly jumping or trails or draging then go short... but then a person should also ask why they ride a M and buy a sled more sueted to ther riding.
I know its just my 2 cents but I dont think the M's should come shorter then a 162. Ive riden bolth for countless miles and cant see a trade off (in my riding style) that makes a shorter track better yet, aside from drag racing.
