153" maverick track on a 900 RMK

I was thinking of trying to install a 153" maverick track with 3" pitch on my '05 900 RMK with a 151" track. I know I can buy new drivers but it's the rear skid that has me concerned. I was also thinking of going with a big wheel kit for the rear wheels. Can anyone help to see if this is even possible?

Short answer is yes. There is always lots of varialbles, but essentially if you're going from 9T 2.52 to 7T 3.00 you will end up needing appox. 1/4" more travel towards the back on the axle track tension adjuster, (from where you are now), & anti-stab proof the front rails, if you haven't allready.

Booo...to me! Just looking at my scribble pad & my thinking is bassackwards, dis-regard my 2cents, someone switched the polarity between my ears!

155"

I know when I went to a 155" inch track i had to move the mounting holes back about 1.5"

I have 144" rails w/ extentions to 151"...track had plenty of room with a 151x2" lug so i think another little bit should clear my tunnel.

My guess is you will be very close to being tapped out on your adjustment unless you do something different with your mounting or bigger bogie wheels.

I ran an IQ 900 skid in my IQR and ran a 153 Maverick on it with an 8 inch big wheel kit. I went from 9 tooth 2.52 drivers to 7 tooth 3 inch drivers and I had more adjustment for the track with this setup than it did with the stock 151 track. It will fit and work just fine.. Here is a picture to show the setup and how much adjustment I still had left.

dang, that whole skid looks familiar...then you go and sell it...selfish, lol

Avid offset axle big wheel kit turned around backwards will probably make it fit just fine. Not sure if you would need the 8 inch wheels or the 9 inch though. You can also install up to 7 3/8 top carrier wheels without any clearance issues to take up a little more track.
