15 LT Lower Cross Shaft Zirk Fitting ??'s

Finished the final setup on my 15 LT and went to hit all the zirks with grease and had an incredibly hard time getting grease to go in to the lower cross shaft.

I pulled the zirk and pumped grease through it with no problems, re-installed and can only get a half a pump before grease starts oozing out around the guns tip :noidea: I felt like i got some grease in there and went riding but am a litle leery about going on future rides and doing damage. Any idea??

You need to put a few rides on the kit before greasing it. Over greasing has plenty of problems. I think Timbersled recommended 2 rides or 100 miles.

Kind of confusing in the install instructions that TS sent on page 2 under finish up work step 24. says to grease the 5 suspension pivots until you see grease coming out both ends. Which I did and took many pumps until it came out either end. This gave me the impression that these bushings and shafts came dry from the factory. The only one that I couldn't get grease to come out of was the lower cross shaft.

Then step 25. says not to grease the bearings for the first 5 rides and I took that as the main drive shaft bearings, which I didn't touch.

Oh I didn't fully read your post. I thought you were talking about the lower housing for the bearings. Those are the points you want to ride before greasing (all the bearings).

after reading ur post I thought oh no I better check mine, '14 kit took grease in all suspension zerks. '15 would not take grease in the flex arm one. I'm thinking its not that necessary because it pivots on rubber bushing? I dunno maybe the rubber is blocking the grease from going in?

Yeah when I took the zirk out to see if it was faulty I shined a flashlight in to the hole for the fitting and the clearance is pretty damn tight.

Glad to here I am not the only one. Maybe like you say its on a rubber bushing and not to important to be greased, but to me a pivot point should have the ability to be greased especially if there is a fitting already there.

Anyone from TS chime in on this or heard of any similar problems??

I was just about to ask the same question! I get very little grease to go into the pivot arm zerk...:noidea:
We are finally starting to get snow here and on the plus side this is the best $ ive spent on a toy in a loooong time! :becky::becky:

I have the exact same problem, I was only able to get grease in 3 of the 5 zerk's on the suspension - those 3 @ the back of the track.

Could not get grease in either of the pivot arm fittings. I'll try to call TS and see what they say

So called ts this am and sounds like the lower cross shaft is almost a sealed unit that comes packed with grease and has some o rings on either side that prevent water from entering and the grease from getting pushed out. Mitch at ts also told me if that we are getting grease to pass through than there is probably a worn o ring that is totally serviceable.
