15 km brand new belt

Well I decided to throw a new belt on my 12 as it was starting to pull a cord. Easy trail ride in because the whoops were to far to gain any decent rhythm and I was trying to break in my new belt I was just about to turn off the trail and bang. Clearly a defective belt , so I put the old wore out belt with a half a cord in one side and rode the piss out of it for about 100km no issues . My sled has never had belt problems until now . If this is cats new standard it's pretty unimpressive to say the least and if cat doesn't want to stand by there product (like I have for the last twenty years) then I will seriously consider a change to doo

I'm in the same boat, 60 miles tops on the 082. I can get more if I don't work the sled hard, but its disappointing you can let er rip. used a cheap crossfire 1000 belt and got 150 miles out of it at a third the price of the cat belt and didn't blow till I put er to the bars for a half mile.

Clearly my fault not the belts.

i run the 115 polaris belt on my 1100 and it has held up perfectly, and is a bit longer which i need to fit properly on my secondary..

Never buying another Cat belt.

Using a Carlisle XS809 - slightly longer than the Cat belt. I've now got over 500 miles on it. Blew two Cat belts in the first 200 miles before switching.
The belt is half price of the Cat belt as well.

I also have had good luck with the XS 809@18 psi. But I have updated secondary bushings and franks belt guard/brake rotor cover aswell.

Funny thing about those junk cat belts. My buddy runs a 048 cat belt on his turboed poo pro and blew that junk cat belt, 1200 mile later!

I must not ride hard enough. The belt that came on my 2012 has over a 1000 miles on it and still looks good.

Yea me too......

I still have the original belt on my sled and have over 900 miles on it now and it still looks like it is new

850 miles on my original 2012 belt. 100 miles on my second. 110 miles on my third. Something has changed between the belts from 2011/2012 to 2012/2013. Some are shorter etc but they must also be less resistent to heat. I am going to try an aftermarket cheepo as I do not have the budget to put a belt on ever second or third ride. I may also be moving to a Team Secondary to help with clutch heat issues. I have more vents on my sled than plastic as well as an EVO intercooler fan to help move air out and the clutches get super hot when boondocking in the trees.

I agree. Changed one belt at about 600 miles last year and kept it for a spare. Blew that belt at about 1200 miles over new years this year then three new cat belts at under 100 miles each since. Only have about 100 miles (hard ones) on the ultimax belt but it still looks brand new!!! Wish I would have smartened up sooner.

Well got 1400 miles on original belt on the 2012 and around 600 on the 13's original one. These are not lake blasters blasting across the prairies?????? Why didn't you buy a short track. Lower gearing would be nice but need to remove reverse for that.
