146 x 2.5 track is awesome.

I've been out twice on my 146x2.5" track under a KX450F on heavy Washington powder.

My initial impression is that it is amazing. It will tractor up silly steep slopes and holds very well. The ski tends to wash out first when pushed hard. The turning radius may have increased a bit -I left the skid setup stock, and I think a little more transfer under throttle may be helpful.

I started with a 2011-2012 kit with a 121x1.75" track.

those are some seriously long extensions. i would think there should be some kind of bracing inbetween. wonder how the suspsension will react

ON track

I've been looking for another track for an upgrade next year, great to see someone put one of these bad boys on the snow, like'n what I see there.

just not many 2" plus lug height options out there.

I talked to some Wyoming riders that were making basically 200" 3" track a few years back by glueing two tracks together, I have been searching for threads on that, any suggestions. I am thinking a 3" track cut to 141 or whatever the track pitch issue works out to be.

3" paddle tracks are going to be 3 pitch, so 138 141 146 whatever you mate it together as.

cool thing is given the relatively lower power of the bikes im betting you would have fairly good luck banding the track together with some relatively simple tech

I've thought about doing the same thing. One thing I've wanted todo was tip up the back of the track so the total contact patch on the trail isn't as big. and also move the upper rear idler wheels back a ways to take up some of the track length. I would love to see a 3x136" track! nice work. How does it handle in the trees with a track that long?

tipped up

built a couple of woop sleds years back and tipped the rails up in back???? heck of an idea, never noticed much improvement in handling and in some case it didn't for sure go up hills as well as the not tipped up, most of the sled companies have dropped the idea also. never know though, give it a try, could be different on a bike.
