144" notched track for mountain cat only?

Wondering do i need to replace the 144" camo track with another notched track for 02 mountain cat 800?
notched as far as for the cooler lines in the tunnel or is there someway to run a shorter lug track and have it fit under the cooler lines and not have to notch it? Will compromise to a 1.5" lug no less..

I had one that I ran a full 2" track on. It did have a fabcraft tunnel but the cooling lines were in the same place. I drilled out the front skid mounting hole to the next lower hole, sucked the limiter strap up, and it cleared the lines. Actually it helped eliminate the trenching they are famous for too.

Wow thanks man I've never heard of that easy of a fix for that big ol pig.
It's a pre 1M so I've heard they're like 50 lbs. heavier, don't know if thats true or not but I'd believe it, comparing it to my crossfire 800, feels like I'm trying to lean a sherman tank on it's side lol.

But, did it still dance around with the front end up? being that you shortene the front end?

It would still bring the front up fine you just need to play with the shock spring tension until you get good balance. You can drop a lot of weight if you can find a newer skid to put under it. Those sleds did feel like tanks! The tracks run so close arond the front drivers that they trap a lot of snow and burn up your power, I often thought about putting smaller drivers on then to get some room in there.
