Yep it's the sailor, road there 94-2000 with a 136 on different summits, when the snows nipple rings high it goona be a fun day no matter what the lenght
Did you really need to throw the nipple ring pictoral at us...
Planning a New Years trip... Just wondering if a 136 x 1.5 is too short to get around in Togwotee? I do fine in the snowies; hardly ever have any issues with getting stuck off trail.
Thanks.
Good point, and I'm pretty sure that there were some pretty ballsy guys that rode Tog way before long tracks. That first picture that Firecatguy posted was my buddy on a 136 (Renegade) last X-mas. He struggled bad because we had 3+ feet of fresh stuff with no base or bottom. It was an absolute riot. We spent a lot of time digging, but that's half the adventure, isn't it? The bunje was very popular. We rode Christmas at Tog the last 4 years, and he said no more until he buys my Summit. February/March is more friendly to shorter tracks at Tog since there is base. You will also see more of the scenery as it doesn't snow all the time then either.
To those that say it is all rider and no machine, you have never riden tog when it was deep. I have been there when a 160+ track couldn't float enough to keep you from getting stuck, and the "just pin it" doesn't work. Unless you like chinese food, cause you will be digging to china to find your sled.
Lookin4snow layed it out the best.
It is always a ^rap shoot as to the actual snow conditions.
If they get a 3' storm roll thru, the 136 is in trouble.
You may have to follow some of the longer tracks when you have to go slow or go uphill so they can break trail for you. That being said, you will prob. be ok.
If you get out to tog and realize the 136 just isn't cutting it, you can always rent.
