136 skid with 144 track???

Has anyone ever tried running a 136 skid with a 144 track and relocating the skid further back? I am thinking about attempting this to gain a better approach angle with my track on a 2000 formula z 700 ZX chassis.if anyone has any info on doing this either E-mail me at Ncurry@tds.net or post and let me know. Thanks

thats what i did when i had my 144 track with 8inch big wheels, works really nice, built some brackets and rides good, was so long ago i forget about how many inches back it was, but its really easy to do, if you change the track, get some xtravert drivers and have fun

When I did my Pol. I made my own ext. to incorporate an 8" wheel. I moved the skid back 3.75". You also have to drop the mounting points. I forget how far though.
144-136= 8/2 = 4. That's roughly the setback.

Had a 98 summit x that I relocated the skid back, went from a 136 to a 151. Gives you a supper flat attack angle on the track, floats great and stopped a lot of the trenching problem that sled had stock. It was kinda a pain though, definatly need the right tools and parts for the job.

I set a 136 suspension to a 141 track, works great! Just like above said, it was kinda a pain. I needed a couple of my buddies there to pull the suspension back in order to figure out the mounting points. All in all it was definitely worth it, especially since you can save some money by not buying a longer skid or rail extensions.
