13 Pro knock on takeoff

Went for a ride yesterday , about 50% of the time when i hit the gas to take off it will have a single knock noise from the clutch side. It is almost the same noise as when you shift to reverse .Has anyone else noticed this ? or know what the problem is ?

The Team secondary usually locks into place in reverse. You have to move forward to get it out. If you ever have tried to open you clutch to remove a belt right after backing up, you know what I mean. It will clunk when you move forward, but only after you have been in reverse. Does it happen EVERY time you take off?

I should say, if it happens, can you stop and make it happen again while continueing to move in the forward direction?

It is the reverse notch in the helix but you can eliminate the noise in 2 ways.

1. lower your engagement rpm with a different primary spring
2. change your drive belt to a wider belt (re-shim your primary possible)

I too have had gone crazy with this nasty clunk and after riding doo for 16 years and think it sounds a bit junky. I had it really bad when I ran a Dayco belt and found the stock belt was a bit wider. Noise is almost completely gone now with belt change.
