13 Pro Broken Crank….what to do???

13 Pro Broken Crank….what to do???

What should I do guys? Last day of my season, and the Crank breaks clean right behind clutch. Sled is stock with 1400 miles and is only 2 months out of warranty. Was planning to trade for a 15, but am now debating rk teaks 858 BB. Crappy situation either way, So the question is, FIX and trade it for a 15, or install the 858 and ride it?? I could really use some input. Thanks guys!!

maybe dealership will still give you decent trade since they probably can fudge a warrenty with it for themselves..??

Get ahold of your dealer and work with Polaris if you can. They maybe able to help with some parts.

Indy Dan's long rod (if you are done for the year) or if you want it sooner. I have a Long Rodded Crank in the garage waiting for a donor engine? Do you want it? Has the shim and gaskets. PM me if you want to discuss it further.

Or you could just buy and install the '14 IQR 600 race crank and have one of the first Hybrid 800 HO's. and have a 414.5# PRO.

I find it kinda funny. You break a crank (real bummer though) and your asking if you should install a big bore kit. I'd fix the crank first!

I know you were planning on it lol. If you don't get a free stocker (which didn't serve you well IMO for some reason) or find a dealer that will go to bat for you, you could take it to the best CFI 800 guy (Indy Dan) and ride 'til 2017 with engine warranty.
Get him to do the bottom end and follow his lead on the rest.

I think it speaks volumes that an aftermarket builder gives a better warranty than OEM on an engine long block. Unheard of!! Yet there it exists for anyone to take advantage of.

I'd check with dealer if there is any warranty help. if no, send it to dan and see if he can long rod the new race crank for you. throw a 858 on top of it while youre at it

Same thing just happened to be but a 2012 assault switchback. Dealer offered me a 1500 dollar crank at 1400. In same boat looking for suggestions mine has electric start. Should a guy also get his clutch liked at for balancing too?

Cranks do not fail for no reason, if it is / was the PTO (clutch) end, I would be getting the clutch serviced and balanced. My two cents

Goto your dealer and tell them if you want me to continue buying sleds from you and to snowcheck a 15 then get this thing warrantied and ill trade it in for a 15 or work some kind of deal with them......................if they say no I would precede to throw a massive hissy fit :mad2: smash some **** on the way out the dealer  yell f*uck you to multiple people and tell one person that their cool and then yea indy dan is your best bet $$$$$$$$

your warranty timing is strange...must of bought last year in Jan with a one year warranty?? the warranty date should start from time of pick up/signature I thought

If you snowcheck a new 15 I would bet Polaris will cover it. If not dont buy another polaris. The new Viper with the 190 kit looks pretty impressive.

Thanks for the input guys. Sled was bought in late december, so thats why the warranty timing is off. The reason I asked about the BB was that if I decided to keep it, I want to do it all at once, not replace the crank, then tear back into it for the 858. Its at the dealer now, and sounds promising. Looks like they'll pay parts if I pay labor….fingers crossed

i read on the 4ms the motor thing for poo is over blown. since yours is not "blown" i don't think you fit in.
if it was me i would just put a reman crank back in it and then trade it in
