13 Ecoboost Question

I have not put one on yet.

What are you looking for with an exhaust? Performance or sound?

I have a Solo 4" single on my 11 screw. It helped it a little on the low end, but I have 3:73s, so low end was never a problem! Sounds like a piped six most of the time. At idle it kind of sounds like a motor boat, but sounds a lot like a piped Cummins when you get on it! No drone with this system, and with the Mach46 muffler it has a mellow purr!

Thanks for the input! I mainly want the exhaust for performance, but wouldn't mind good sound either :face-icon-small-coo I've read good things on solo and heart throb, but I've heard heart throb has a terrible drone at highway speeds. Driving 6+ hours to the mountains I don't want to put up with a terrible drone. Keep the comments coming :D

You could search over on the F150 forums and get a more information than you care to think about!

That is why I went with he Solo over the Heartthrob because I didn't want the drone! I think Stainless Steel Exhaust Works is another on the F150 forums that seems to get good reviews?

Yeah I've been over at the Ford Turck Enthusiasts Forum, but figured I'd see what you guys have had luck with so far. Going from a Duramax to this Ecoboost so I'm hoping im not to disappointed lol

I have an 11 Eco FX4. From what I gather, the tuner is the best bang for the buck if you think you need more power (Livernois or 5 Star seem to have the best luck)!
I went with the exhaust because I felt that I had enough power, but wanted to gain some mpg!
I will say that the Eco mpg is very sensitive to the conditions (wind), lift, tires, load, etc.
If you did not use the Duramax to its full potential (ie:tow a lot or heavy) then overall you will be happy, happy, happy!

Yeah the only thing I tow is a 3 place enclosed trailor during the winter, so the duramax is overkill haha. But talked with the dealer today and it sounds like if I put exhaust on this Eco I loose some of my warranty :face-icon-small-fro So I guess the exhaust will have to wait a while

No way will you lose warranty from a cat back exhaust. Only way warranty is affected is if you go to a non-catted downpipe. Even then they would have to prove it to the cause of any problems
