12V Plug on 09 Assault

Hey I just bought a gps and was wondering where I can tap into on my assault for a 12v power source. Is there already a connector there with nothing plugged into it or will I have to tap into some existing wires?
Thanks.

Another connector near the dash

(If the Assault wiring is the same as the Dragon anyway)

On my 09 Dragon the 12V accessory connector was tucked up under the front edge of the dash/cowling plastic (above the brake) on the RH side. Raise the hood, and it was taped to the harness a few inches over from the steering post. Looks like a flat 4 pin trailer connector except it only has 2 pins. The pin is ground, the socket is +12V (actual measurement is around 13.5 - 14V).

The one near the hinge (with a brown wire and a red/white stripe) is intended to externally power the chassis for testing, but ties in to the same points as the accessory connector - either one will work.

I just acquired a '10 Assault and was looking to hardwire my GPS as well. I've made a harness for my GPS to plug into the battery tender ports on my ATV's and dirtbikes, and the plug I found on my Assault, per the above description, was the same as the battery tender plugs, so my harness plugs right into it.......I'm gonna test it with a multimeter before I connect my Garmin to it, but I'm pretty stoked!

Just had my first ride with this wiring setup yesterday. I definitely want to put a battery in the circuit. At idle, the voltage drops low enough that the GPS switched to internal battery, and with the cold and vibrations, that didn't last. So, it was pretty much useless for the most part. Affixing the battery in the circuit will solve all the problems though.

Love that sled!!!!!!!
