'12 RMK Pro broken track shaft

I've got a '12 800 RMK Pro 155 with only 300 mi on it and what appears to be a broken track shaft. It's still stuck up in the mtns and we're hoping to get it out today to dig into it. Thought it was the chain or one of the gears but took chain case apart and everything's intact so thinking it's gotta be the track shaft. I heard there is a weld just behind the chain case in the shaft. Anyone heard of any similar problems?

just had a assault do the same thing.. drive shaft was back-ordered, so i mounted it on my wheel balancer and re-welded it.. when they built it they missed the seam and welded just beside it.

Ski do had the same problem with the hydro formed shafts plug welds broke! I was wondering if my pro was gonna do that!!ski do changed them all in warranty

Broken Driveshaft

Might look like this ? Less than 200 miles, 2012 Pro 163". Replaced on warranty, no questions asked. Obviously a poor weld, only penetrated on one side.

Those that had 2012 driveshafts fail, what was the build date?

Curious if Polaris ever caught this or if they all have potential problems...

Thanks.

Thanks to all the replies. The fact that they're backordered and my sled will have been down for over 2 weeks is a total bummer. I'm thinking that because of the backorder this is more prevalent than Polaris will admit. I also don't know yet if the new round of shafts will have better quality control. My plan is to re-weld, true, & balance my existing shaft so I can ride... then replace it with the new one when it comes. I've been in the metal business for 25 years so plan on inspecting the new shaft before install. Of course, when I broke my shaft I was about 7 miles from my truck in deep powder..it took us 3 days to get my sled out.
