1100t air intake

I have a 1100t LTD and noticed that the left hand air inlet to the air box is blocked off/ not punched out.... wondering if this is just another cat mess up and just drill it out or if there is a reason for this?

Thanks

I don't know if it helped. Before I even rode my sled, I looked it over and did quite a number of mods. I have been up against other stock 1100t sleds and mine so far seems to be a lot quicker and responds better. The problem is in comparing, I think all the mods helped a little or I wouldn't have done them before I rode the sled. I do know that the clutching is far and away better than stock!

What clutching changes have you made? I am interested because I am having trouble finding a setup that give me good throttle response while not over reving on WOT climbs.

Thanks,

cutting out the left inlet , really shines in the deep powder, giving more surface for the air to draw through, i was getting a bog , when carving or sidehilling in the deep stuff, when the inlet would get covered with snow , hasn't bogged once since i opened up the left side

s2h I have machined different sheave angles for both clutches. I have changed the driven clutch to a torsional springs system clutch with ball bearings instead of nylon rollers. I also floated my secondary. My drive clutch has stock weights and spring. I have a 2 1/2" exhaust that I designed to exit just above the right front A arm. That gave me room for a belt holder, a one pound bottle of propane, a coleman burner, tools and food. It sounds awesome! I also had a Yamaha apex turbo on propane that we could run as high as 27 psi boost. I have never hurt a belt on that unit. There is no comparison in power. The 1100t is great and with some things that I will be doing, I think that I can have much better power than I do now. I do have to admit, the Yamaha did spoil me. The one best thing that you can do to either one of these sleds is a set of Simmon's gen3 skis.
