11 sb assault 144?

I live in wisconsin want to no how the sb assault would perform in mountains? I would do the 2" track and powder pros on the front with clutching changes just want to no others thoughts? I've herd the 16? is much easier to ride than the 155 but with only 1 sled the 144 is better at home. I only ride west 1 or 2 times a year? I would be coming off a 07 iqr 600 w/ a 144
thanks

Assault switch

Well I have a assault switchback and I have been out west once with it this year and I was really impressed with it. Mine came stock with the cobra 1.3 in track so I switched it out to a 2 in challenger track and changed my gearing to 20 42 I believe. As for clutching I just put the 10 60 weights in it and went. Pulled 8200 Roma anywhere I went. I was coming off a 2009 shift 800 rmk and it was night and day difference. I may have my switchback assault for sale if u r interested, I want to get a retro 155 pro. But who knows. Hope this helps

I was really impressed with mine out in the snowies... It went everywhere I needed to go i just had to work a bit harder than some of the 155s. Definitely a great boondocker. Excellent on the trails in wi also. I'm considering getting a 155 just because I don't ride trails anymore like I thought I would so if you're interested in my sled shoot me a pm... Either way it's an amazing crossover sled

Reason

Kinda the same reason thAt td has. I just don't ride the trails around home like I have in the past. And more and more people r riding the 155s around here and as long as a person has scratchers and dips anytime they can the hyfax seems to hold up good

I have to agree with everyone else here, does great out west. I spent 4 days in the Snowies and went everywhere the mountain sleds were going without any problems at all. Others rode mine and agreed that it's easier to manuever in the trees than a 155" is. I originally had a hard time deciding between the 144" or just getting the Pro-rmk, my 144" will go everywhere a 155" will go so I'm very pleased with my decission. Oh and yes I have the 2" spring order track.:face-icon-small-coo

Is the ski stance adjustable on the switchback assault? According to the polaris website it is not. Is that correct? I am also considering snowchecking this machine. Any more pros or cons.

Has anyone machined down the SB spindles and added the spacers to make the existing ones adjustable? Think this may be the cheaper, and just as functional. I actually liked my Xfire on trail in the narrow setting better, off trail it was MUCH better.

No, ski width is not adjustable on the switchback.

The '12 switchback assault at the sneak peak had adjustable ski stance but with just one big bushing instead of two smaller bushings. I talked to one of the reps and he wasnt sure if the '12 and '11 IFS were going to be interchangeable but if they are u could always just get the new switchback spindles.
