So i have a 2011 assault rmk 800 155 and i cant seem to get my spark plugs tight and i dont want to strip em out and they came loose a couple times not sure what to do? And i think my oil pump is up to much because last spring i turned it up 3 turns and it seems like its gumming up my plugs because they keep fouling out when it sits over night its fine when im riding it but then the next day i go out to start it and its only running on 1 cylinder so i switch out plugs and then it does fine so think i should turn my oil pump down 2 turns? thanks o and this is also just here in Minnesota so theres no altitude just making sure theres no problems before i head out west

Explain what you mean by spark plugs not getting tight do they snug up and stop turning or do they just keep turning ?

Loose spark plugs are the first sign of DET!

Yes.. a new spark plug is going to take a little bit to get tight!

VS

a old plug that has the gasket already smushed! !!!

Detonation

Napa Matt is right ,you have detonation and need higher octane fuel. Next sign is electrodes hammered shut on the plugs. maybe old gas with ethanol and you have the non-ethanol plug in.

thinkin the problem is just that i still have gas from last year in colorado with some seafoam in it yet from sittin over summer and i had the higher octane one plugged in so maybe that was the issue idk im just gonna keep driving it as much as i can and see if i cant flush that gas out of it ive always ran 91+ octane

what exactly is DET ive heard of people having problems with it just not really sure what it is
