11/12 Slp setup on a 13 - pics and info on how to

I recently installed a slp pipe/can on my sled. It was supposed to be for a 13 but the supplier screwed up and sent the one for an 11/12

I was able to modify the 11/12 setup and make it fit, easily and without the lower can mount. I think in a fashion even lighter than the 13 setup.

Before I do all the info and how to, looking for some installed pics of a 11/12, and a 13 for reference

Thanks

I hope you received a discount for doing this rather than getting the correct setup sent at the dealers expense??

Yes, I already had the discount ( family style)

All that was really required was to drill one rivet and make a bracket, should have the pic of all when I get home

Did slp make any changes to the pipe between 12 and 13 ? Is the can the only difference between those two years?

I think some of the heat tape placement areas in the instructions are also to tip the dealer off to the fact that you have had a pipe installed if they see that when in for maintainance or warranty :scared: I could be wrong, but just a thought. I know they couldn't prove a guy didn't just add heat tape to be proactive, but you never know :-)

I'm sorry I completely forgot about this thread. I'm at work tonight. Ill post some pics and info tomorrow afternoon

I can report 800 miles on the kit with no issues, 1500 total on sled

What map are you running on the PCV? Did you load a '13 map or keep your 11/12 map?

Thanks

and where did you get the map? i really didn't like the one supplied by slp for the 11. way too rich. ended up running stock mapping with 92 octane and it work flawlessly. anyway, i digress...

I ended up just taking off the lower mount from the '13 and putting on an '11/'12 lower can mount. Pipe Fits well with no rubbing on the carbon fiber support. $26.99 retail price on the '11/'12 lower exhaust mount. The lower mount I removed from the '13 really doesn't support the can as the earlier models do. It's just a support for the electric start battery support.
