10 year evolution of a 2001 GenII full mod build up.

I bought this as a 2001. Picked it up new in Oct 00.

This pic was taken at the top of Galena Pass between Ketchum and Stanley on the way home...the day I picked it up down in Bellevue from Woodside RV.

Started with 2" riser, Incline Design (Now Fabcraft) carbon fiber trailing arms and an SLP single pipe before it ever hit the snow.

I sold the single and went with HPC ceramic coated PSI twins.

Shane Hart's porting.

Added an HRP drop and roll.
Eventually decided to run PSI dial-a-domes.

Red windshield for cool factor.

In summer of 2002, I put in a used Holz skid on it and ran the first set of 10" billet idlers from Super Beast.

In June 2003, I loaded it up to go to Helena for a tear down and rebuild.

We worked on it a bit that day and I had to hit the road.

He was going to do the rest:
Full tear down. Add a VanAmburg tunnel and RMI gear drive.

January came around and I was hoping to ride soon....so I went over the Helena and picked up my sled and brought it home in milkcrates.

Fabcraft said they'd help me out...so that was an each choice to make.
Bill Whittle (Who now owns Antlers in Cooke City) did the work. Bill is a GREAT dude.

The footwells were a challenge to make because the 3" roll back from the RMK drive. Custom work there. I lost the depth of the footwell, but I learned to live without it.

There's a lot of room in the bulkhead for the 2" paddles on the camo 156"

Insert the mill next:
PSI 1155 (started as a 1085 before I bought it.)

40mm Mikuni rack carbs straight bored out to 41.6.
Holzman multirange variflow.

I forgot to mention that along the way before this rebuild I had also gone with Walker Evans shocks and a Cat roller as well.

I ordered the tunnel as a 156, but it was too short, even with a 156" track and 10" idlers so we had to get a longer one.

Finally got to bring it home in Feb 2004.

And I finally got to use my Outlaw Composites hood. That bugger is LIGHT.

Great clearance to the rail tips...(it ended up being too much...I had to slide the skid forward a bunch because the skis were just too heavy).

The center to center on the clutches was LONG and I had to use this LONG ski-doo belt to make it work.

Eventually, I decided to sell the 156 track and go with the good 'ole 159 2.25 finger track which I drilled out eventually.

THEN I decided the Holz skid wasn't to my liking and went with the EZ-Ryde.

THAT is a Cadillac ride.

We looked at this one...but the snow was sketchy and an avy killed a guy just over the ridge a week or two earlier.

Last ride on the 1155:

Sooooo I sold the 1155 and went back to an 800.
2003 ves with turbotater's porting and hybrid wampus cat SLP twins with Jaws stingers and silencers. PSI header pipes. LOL

This is the last ride on it in 2010 with the 2010-11 Simmons GenIII protype skis. (Thanks Michelle)

Soooooooo this year it's a 2003 engine. 2001 bulkhead. And only 3 OEM parts still on it: master brake cylinder, steering arms and the bell crank steering arms under the engine. LOL

Thanks Reeber...Oh yeah..forgot about the seat. I think you see 3 different Boss seats in there.

I hated the 2nd one in there with the nut hump. It tore around the seams and I didn't like that hump. When Rhea worked there she swapped it out for a new seat for like $50. Still have that hi-rise flattop.

Nice build, oh those Van Amburg tunnels, total eye candy for me. I dont even care what they do for performance, they make a sled look bad-azz.

Mulestar, they definately chaged how they do the drop brackets since 2003.

In 2005 when they changed to the newer style I tried to get them to cnc the new style some for me with flames in them...but they wouldn't do it. Too much work to retro fit that.

But I love the tunnel and I still love the running board coolers. I with Pol would keep using those...they have GREAT function and practicality.

Reeb...I remember hitting my bag on that nut hump a few times.
