10 series vs 11 series weight differences

Was checking my weights while I am awaiting a new clutch from Indy Dan and figured would take some pics and post the differences using 74g weights. 1st pic is top top view, 2nd is profile view, 3rd is tip view, and 4th is thickness differences. Thought some of you might want to see the differences from 10 vs 11 series. Sorry for crappy photos as only had the kids I pod touch on hand.

I was currently using 11-76 and think I see why now that I lost 10-15 mph on top end as I currently hit a wall at about 95 with the 11-76 and with the 10-74 was 105-115 all day. Thought it was from the new track going from 1.25" ripsaw to a 1.325" cobra 121" track. Can see the 11 series has most weight at the base and little on the tip which is good for bottom end but the 900 has a lot of torque so think I will be going back to 10 series for top end also. Both 10-74 and 11-76 were on target rpms identical 7500-7700 which is where I want the '06 to be. Thought the 11-76 would bring the rpms down a bit but since it has less tip then I can see why. Figure the 11-76 doesn't have enough tip weight to pull the better traction cobra on top compared to the 1.25 ripsaw.

Did you set the clutch up for the 11's? If I am not mistaken, you need to re-set the belt to sheave clearance, as well as the deflection. If not, you may have lost top end due to the clutches not being physically able to shift out to 1:1.

Sure is easy to see the difference between them in your pics! Thanks for sharing.

Yes I did set up the clutches, cleaned, shimmed, deflection, new springs.

Right on... I wouldn't have expected a loss in top speed like that. I have never swayed from the 10`s
