10% ethanol blend OK?

knee deep in it

Husky has 94 octane gas that is 10% ethanol blend. Can I run this in a ported 600 HO Polaris with nitorus? Boondockers NOS requires minimum 94 octane.

If your jetting is right on the edge the 10% eth. will lean it out and put a hole in a piston , it also brakes the oil down and could stick a piston, I wouldn't use it if you have other options.

NO

I wouldnt. I talked to a older mechanic and he told me that the ethonol washes off the oil from the moving parts and then it prevents the oil from sticking to the metal. This eliminates all your lube and causes a siezure.

i wouldnt. ethanol makes less horsepower than regular gasoline. so to start things off 10% of your gas is making less power, and i have also heard about it washing off oil from moving parts... which i hear leads to bad things:D

Ditto whats been said, blew up an '01 MC becuase of ethanol, makes some funky lookin pistons!!!!

Ours had no boost.

We filled at a station that did not have it marked they used 10% in ALL of their fuels. We did not know they mandated it fo the state of MN to require ethanol in their sleds ahead of time, lesson learned I guess.

We were done riding for the day and headed back to town and all of a sudden my pops stopped immediately in front of me. We though odd, pull it and lets go, about ripped the arm off trynig to pull it over, siezed. On rebuild it was confirmed by a reputable mechanic who use to work for AC that it was an ethanol burndown, adn laughed and said not another one....

Never use it in my sled, truck, cars, anything. I don't want to take a chance on anything, nor do I support the ethanol program. .02

Pretty sure all the lodges in the Black Hills sell only "Super" which is 10% ethanol, must be a lot of blown up sleds out there.........

I've used it in all of our 6 sleds and have yet to have a problem, going on about 5 years.

run it in everything I have...no choice it's 10 percent in MN.

Never had issues in my 2 sleds, non in any dirtbikes, nor have I heard of any issues with bikes and I ride with a bunch of guys on bikes. Never heard of issues in outboards or lawnmowers either.

Yeah, i don't buy into the story of destroying a motor.

In MN we have been running 10% eth. for almost 20 years now. The manufactures have adjusted the machines to deal with this issue. For mod sleds you just have to make adjustments in the fuel mixture and give it a bit more oil to make them live longer. Is this the idea situation, No, but it is a reality, and in the not too far off future MN will be dealing with e15 and e20 fuels.

Yikes!!!

The mid-grade out here is 10%, the premium is ethanol free for now. (At the few stations that I frequent, your mileage may vary..) :beer;

To each there own (and each to his own peril), but I will not run any ethanol gas in my small engines.........

Too much evidence of gunked up carbs from ethanol, phase seperation of ethanol and gasoline, ethanol absorbing water (detrimental to 2 strokes!!!), and ethanol linked to burned down and/or detonated motors in sleds for my liking.

My buddy just early last winter detonated his Mnt. Viper (Where I got my Billet Tining Fork Wheels and Billet Peak Head from!) using crappy ethanol gas. I use only high grade 91 octane nonoxygenated gas in my Mnt. Viper and no detonation issues for me.

But I always worry about what gas I'm buying whenever I fill up trail side, even though they usually have high traffic (so decent gas supply turn over) and they calim it's nonoxygenated. You could unknowingly buy the "crapinol" and there is no defense for that!
