1/4 turn connectors for side panels

Having problems with these connectors, Hard to engage and after a bit of use the clips and threads are wearing making them useless. Anybody else seen this? Any Ideas?

I had the same fastners on my Nytro, 4 per side panel.
The only issue I ever had with them was losing 1, the washer that holds it on the backside fell off..

You can adjust how tight/loose they are by bending the al. bracket (the piece the fastener screws into) in or out a bit.

I've had an issue too. Believe it or not, I like the system when it's working (go figure). I had one slip off of the mount so the female side was gone. I went to the Polaris dealer and ordered four so I had extras. As you can imagine, I haven't used another since I got the one to replace the lost one. Sometimes you push too hard and the pin is in too far. Back off a little and it might just snap together for you. Here is the part (#3 -7710630 Clip ).

Somebody needs to fab up a little piece of cable in a loop that could be riveted to the plastic to keep from losing them; like the old kotter pin set up on a Camaro or something. You know what I mean?

Like this, but for the pins!

Also, what about replacing them with more rubber hood straps? Somebody with a warmer garage and better fab skills better get on the stick, I'll pay!
