09 xp secondary rollers

So I have been reading about the RPM issues some are having with the XP.
I am only getting 8200 RPM at 2200' and I am on clicker3. How do you check the secondary rollers?
I am thinking of gearing it down to eithewr 19/45 or 20/45.
Should i take some weight out even if I gear it down.
Going to be riding at about 6000-7000' in about a week or so want to make sure it is going to pull RPM?
I weigh about 200 lbs before any extra gas or gear.
Anything else I should check?
Thanks

when I ride at 2000' im on clicker 1 running 8200-8300 rpms then at 9000' im running on clicker 6 pulling 8300rpms. Is 2200' the lowest you ride. If so it might not be a bad thing to change the weights so that you are running 8200 at that elevation, that way it gives you more room to adjust when you are at higher elevations.

So do I have to pull the whole shaft and all or will just the Helix come off?
If this is your first trip to the mountains with it just take the 12mm setscrew out of the primary's arms, If you have the tools to work on the primary ride it first than make the changes there.
at 7000 ft you should be on clicker 4-5 depending on the snow pulling 81-8200, don't worry about the gearing

This will be my first trip out with it.
I have both a 19 and a 20 tooth top gear for it I think I will put the 20 in and take the 19 along.
Or like you say just do it out there.
I guess a guy should give it a chance stock before I start pissing with it.
Just doing to much reading on here.
I am concerned that I am on clicker 3 at 2200' right now.
I will never ride any lower than this.

We ride at 2200 flat land and 8000 in mtn.
Pull set screw out and you will be at clicker 1 or 2 in flats and 4 or 5 in mnts.

Ya I did some messing around yesterday. I am still on 3 here so I think I will pull the set screw out before we head to Valemount on Wednesday. Should get soft enough again today that I can go for a quick test rip.

if it is stock

on an 09 xp if ur a flatlander and heading to 10000 feet i would highly suggest u gear down to a 19 tooth top gear get rid of the 09 helix for it will not back shift for sh$t on the hill. go back to the 09 clutching and put a straight 41 helix in, put 08 stock 413 ramps in and put about 10.5 grams of weight in. if ur going to ride as high as 10K u r probably going to have to go back to th 08 pin because the 09 weighs 12.2 grams; just my 2 cents

I geared it to 20/45 already. I am going to pull the set screws and try that. This will be my first trip out west with it. The highest we will get is about 7000'.

Gearing down will drop your RPM.

meaning track RPM... as engine RPM is increased... but track RPM on a long heavy pull... you want the lower gear to maintain track RPM... think of it as climbing a hill in a truck with a heavy load... you don't shift into 4th to go up the hill..
