09 XP 163 Sidehilling

I'v never seen that vid, it bad a$$. Makes me want to go buy a kitty. No not realy. That can be done on any newer mountain sled just depends on the rider.

I rode with a few M8's this last few weeks - and one thing they do effortlessly is sidehill. They have a very narrow feel to them, and roll in to turns almost on their own. The part of that video where they go from sidehilling or descending to climbing says a lot about the rider! Impresive.

However, I find the steering feel of the cats to be odd compared to my XP or the Nytro. It almost feels like the old ZX or Poo setup, just more agile.

Nice Vid! I'll stick w/ my XP.

Side hilling

Very good rider in the video no question but, that can be done on the Xp. I ride with guys on Artic Cats and they definety are easier to ride.
It's still the rider that makes it happen. Buy the way the snow conditions on that video are quite ideal.

so I am not one to bash..but yeah that is not sidehilling..
watch the video and this will kind of show what sidehilling is..
I have owned plenty of ski doo's and I can tell you that the best
ski doo I ever had was the last one I sold..(xp in case you were wondering..)

I guess what you mean by sidehilling,, is that you have to hang your leg way out and flail around, hanging off the side of your sled like a dead carp. Rather than just let the sleds balance do the work.

Sweet, love my 154 and 163 Xp's,if someone can't sidehill a XP it's setup poor or they need a hour of Doo training...............it's gravy!

Who said the XP's don't sidehill. Here is a good vid. Snowy Range last week. Very deep, steep, and he screams like a girl, funny. Oh, if you look close, he does it with one hand.

Great vid. I see you've found a magical way to keep the "light front end down."

As for the Artic Cat vid..... The snow as set up perfect for the presentation, and you might notice the track size. Ideal for the situation as well. On top of that...the guys are great riders.

exactly!!!!! If I'm flailing my leg around like that, I'm trying to regain control and am about to have a very ugly dismount....

didn't see anything on that vid that can't be done on an XP

I love the fact that all the Xp riders are so full of excuses ( Perfect snow, Track length) Were are the video's of the XP'S doing this kind of riding.
I Love these guys that ride Xp's , But hey if i made a 10,000 dollar mistake on a Xp i would try to tell myself how good it was too ...

That guy on the articat movie is a rider. Better than most I have seen. I will agree there was nothing on that movie that couldn't be done on a ski doo. I will admit it was probably easier on the cat then the doo, just the nature of the sled. but add another foot of snow and the doo will climb all over that hill and the cat will be stuck. Just the nature of the sleds....

Here you go puddy cat. When we stopped getting dumped on by snow here we'll set up a similar vid with the XP on a spring day. Send us the camera crew, cameramen, and $$.

I have a 163 and no complaints about sidehilling here. Just watch Hangfire from Summit HD Films. That should open your eyes to the XP. Obviously since no one you know of can ride one.

Excuses? I just put up a vid of my buddy, on a normal ride, one take, no excuses...... Side hilling with one hand. The cat guys have to show a professional produced vid with a pro rider, & he still looks like a shmo.
