09' won't hold rpm's

I have a 09' 154'' 800, with mbrp can, timbersled skid with inside wheel kit, and roosterbuilt clutching.
If i am climbing a hill and poach a track it will pull 8200, as soon as I get in the fresh it falls to 7400-7600.
I've checked the rave valves, the dpm, plugs look good. Chain is not too tight, track is not too tight.
This sled has always had this prob, thought the clutch kit would address the issue. Something else must be going on.
When I pull this sled around the shop floor or out of the trailer the track does not roll freely like the other sleds( it almost wont roll). Track tension does not do anything. Bearings in the wheels seem fine. Not sure if this is even the prob.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I checked that they were operating within the specified operating range, and all seemed good. This seems like a diff problem. I pulled the covers and ran the sled to see if the valves were opening/closing properly. Now if the check valves were faulty would the results still be the same? I will try to test them regardless. Thanks for the help.

Bushings in clutches in good shape?
Rollers and ramps good?
No uneven wear?

Clutches have all been gone through. New rollers in primary and secondary, new spring cup

How many miles on the sled?? Have seen some stock secondary springs with low miles down 60-70 lbs from spec. That has been the cause of low RPM in some cases.
Clutch condition is important, have seen some that were deemed "good" by dealers that were in terrible condition...so make sure everything is in perfect condition.
19/45 gears?

Im not an expert on clutching but i can tear them down and put new parts in, i've always done my own. I can say with confidence that clutch condition is well taken care of. I have about 1000 mi on sled, so I guess the secodary spring could be suspect. How do you check the spring rate and where should it be? I have 19/45 gears. The belt is new.

Times 2! Mine was doing the same exact thing and it was the bushing. Had I not been shown what to look for I never would have noticed.

18 is the bushing in the spring cup. 35 is the bushing in the moveable sheave?
If so i have mic'd both and are in spec.

Don't know what to tell you then. My sled was doing the same dang thing and those were the culprits. Holding the new ones and the old ones next to each other I couldn't see or feel a difference. But appantely at 8300 RPM the clutch can tell the difference. One or both slip just a little and you lose RPM.

You issue is definately a clutching problem.

Thanks for the help, ready to pull my hair out. One more idea, could quick clickers cause this?

What kind of quick clickers? If there are the type that replaces the bolt I would put your stock clickers back in and try it. I had the same problem with that style. changed them to the other kind after I put the stockers in and gained my R's back.

crazy timing on this thread, as i'm having the exact problem, but mine appears to not be a drastic as yours. If I track poach my sleds rips like a ra-ped ape, but as soon as i'm in the fresh deep, down comes the rpms and the track speed. I started noticing it late last season, but its gotten worse this year. Bummed for sure. My primary was just all gone through and everything checked good, so i'm thinking my problem lies in the secondary, specifically the spring or bushing.

If your primary is fine I would check your secondary rollers I had one that was cracked in half on my 09. Replaced all rollers this year with hi-torque rollers what a difference so far.
