this sled is new too me, I was told by jared Session, 1 turn= 1 lb of boost sled was running 5.8 psi, made 1 turn sled was running 8.9 psi, Called Boondockers yesterday talked to junior he said 1 turn = 11 clicks, and that 4 clicks should equal 1psi, when I adjusted boost, sled was running could not hear clicks, sled was setting off det sensor severely, turned down 1 full turn reading 5.8 again, but 4 clicks per 1 psi seems to make sense, since i made 1 full turn and it went up 3.1 psi. please help which is the right amount of adjustment. thank u in advance

I'm not sure why you are asking? I gotta think there would be variances in manufacturing of controllers, so that they might not all act exactly the same.

Wouldn't you want to adjust it till ya see the boost you want to run on the guage............or are you trying to get a baseline so that you can remove the guage.

I don't have a boost gauge, i'm using the stat screen on boonie box 4 boost psi

I want to set it at about 7-7.5 psi and leave it alone,

turbo smart sleeper boost t

on my last two sleds with turbo smart sleeper boost t I would say 5-7 clicks is more like a 1/2 lb.

I kinda think that Jared Sessions knows what he is talking about unless he is calling you for help?I understand that your frustrated but thats know need to bash someone. To my underatanding and I could be wrong but there is no set way of ajusting it you really need to have a boost controller so you can moniter it while riding kind of like all the guages on your plane.Ive got a few friends that have had good luck with the BD kit im not a fan but thats just me good luck

I wasn't bashing Jared just stating what he told me

the bottom line is that i got 2 different answers from 2 guys at boondocker's

I'm trying to get it pinned down so I don't cause harm to my sled
it would also be nice to have some idea of what type of adjustment variation so I don't have to turn, test, turn, test repeat all daMN DAY

Is there anywhere on the boondocker kit to splice in a y and run a line to a boost gauge? On my ovs they have a y behind the cover near the steering post and Y it off the boost line going to the fuel box and then run a line up to the boost gauge. Seems like it would be pretty easy to install.

Cutlers and attitude!!!!!!!!!! enough said:face-icon-small-hap

ditto what knzee said, a boost gauge is pretty cheap, I'd try to do that.

It's nice to see where you're at on the way up anyhow, those "peak" stats are never something I want to rely on anyhow, you want to see where you're at on the way up a hill, not the spike as you chopped the throttle.

very easy to do. boondocker uses 1/8" poly line and push to connect fittings. They sell a PTC 1/8" Y for the EBC and works just as well to plumb boost gauge in the boost line from airbox to fuel pressure reglator.

I agree get a boost gauge they are very affordable and easy to put on. The BD box electronics filter out boost spikes in the max psi reading. I don't know the specifics but it has to see around a second or two of sustained boost to record it as max psi.

You're a pilot! You will have it dialed where you want it in ten minutes. If you can't take the time to turn a knob then how do you find the time to make your preflight checks. Apparently guided instruction is needed to turn a knob and see a number. And conflicting stories from boondocker are adding to the confusion. What two different guys at boondocker say doesn't mean anything if your results are different with the controller. Work with your equipment and become familiar with your sled. Tune it as needed or stay stock.

Sorry but I can't help but be a smart *** here. Turn knob, test, repeat as necessary, it's beyond simple.

or.. you could be REALLY good, ride and dial while climbing.

and get a boost gauge. mine goes nuts and spikes and goofy stuff, but those are way off what im running while in a climb.

each one will act a litle differently, there is no exact, this does that much.. should be close, but its honestly so easy to take a pull, do a few clicks.. etc. by doing the math 3.1# per rotation and 11 clicks.. looks like your close to right on the money with how much it should do. its not rocket science. if this takes you more then 10 minutes to set on the hil, your screwing around to much.

never again

LOL whats not good enough ? its not the box its the user. not having problems with mine other the operator. lets get the boonbockers against my cutlers on the snow.... all bs aside is it ready for sunday?
