09' Switchback Suspension Questions w/pics!

Im wrapping up my rear suspension work. I have all the bearings replaced, shocks rebuilt, all the cross shafts are greased, parts cleaned & painted, etc…

When looking things over…I see that the bolt that goes through the base of the rear shock comes real close to the idler wheels. Is this correct?

I noticed this last year as well… The clicker is about impossible adjust when installed. Can I flip the shock over to position the clicker on top…?

Please take a look at the pictures. (I think I have it assembled correctly) Maybe some of you have seen this before and can answer my questions.

Thanks!

I will gladly answer your question, I experienced this exact same thing with my 09 D8 SB last year. I accidentally installed that shock opposite of how you have it in the picture. I moved the sled one time and as the rear suspension compressed, it came down and smacked that metal jumper tube going from the remote resoivoir and the shock body. That metal jumper is $150 to replace and now I have to replace the oil and recharge the shock (that is the reason I had it out in the first place!). Sooo, you have it correctly installed, trust me. I know the clicker is impossible to access the way they have it in there, in fact I didn't even know it had a clicker until I removed it, but that is how it goes.

Good to know

Thank you!

When looking at your suspension how much clearance do you have between the idlers and that bolt? Maybe its something that improves once on the sled..?? (pic #2)

I don't know how much clearance there is, but you can't really gauge it until you get the suspension back in the chassis and the track tension properly set. Once you get it in place it will be correct, on the ground it will not look correct but everything will not be in its normal position.
