09 summit 154 or 163

K, cant believe I am actually doing this, but I am switching teams. Im looking at a 09 summit 163x. Im commin from a 155 polaris, and have no problem with control, my question to you doo doo guys. Am I going to notice a big difference between the 154 and the 163. Also is it worth the extra $ to go with the X package? I do a little of everything from boondocking to seeing who is the king of the hill with my buds.:beer;

Im definatly no expert but id go with the 154. I was asking the same questions. I went with the 154 cause you dont get killed quite as much when pounding down the trail on washboard. But i only weigh 170-180 so i also didnt think i would need the extra track. The only time i wish i had it is when highmarking to get just a little higher up but other wise id go 154 all the way!

Ya, getting mixed reviews. looks like if you want the high mark go with the 162, but i'm being told its not the best for boondocking. Little hard to throw around. So stuck between a rock and hard place right now. Its a toss up. I want the 162, but I dont want the troubles in the trees. Who knew it would be such a big decision.

i would probably go with the 154 at most i have a couple friends that have the 144 and throw those things around petty well and can go where everyone else does probably more track speed. if you dont jump and boondock much and want a climber get 163 if you boondock and hardly jump get 154 if you jump get techy downhill stuff 144 is enough track in the mountain ive seen crazy stuff by that little sled

Like I said,I've got both............ I weigh 155 to 160lbs and I'm 5'9.....have no issues throwing the 163 around.The 163 floats great and is a benefit in the trees not a negative!

I just picked a 154 up today, Non X, as the Xs were $1500 more. I think the 154 will highmark the 163 MOST days of the year, except the real deep, and has more benefits in other areas as well.

We'll see, I ride with friends that have the 163.

I wasn't going to buy one, but At $8000, couldn't pass it up.

Equal riders,no way unless you are on concrete snow. Love my 154 too but all things equal(as in rider and HP) if there is fresh snow the 163 will have the highmark.With a hard base under the snow the 154s will be close,with a soft base they won't be.
