09 RMK 700 Piston/Ring failure

I lost compression in my 09 700 RMK today on the Mag side( now 30psi.) I 'm getting ready to tear it down and rebuild what could have caused this? What should I check so I don't have a repeat? Sled only has 900 miles. I guess i have bad luck everyone said the 700's are the bulletproof not mine! Thanks for any help.

Even with a ring failure your going to build more than 30 psi I would think. Probably more like a hole in the piston. What does your spark plug look like?

The plug was wet and fouled the first time. I changed the plug and it ran better and then fouled another plug.

Not true.. if it eats in to the cyl it can read 0 psi

What I can't figure out is if it was a failure of a system (fuel pump,oil pump, mapping) wouldn't I lose both cyclinders. I have also seen where people replace only to lose a piston again. I will know more today when I tear it down. I kinda hope I find something that tells me why!
