I am putting new rings in my sled and the manual shows to install the rings with the letter up. The new OEM rings I bought do not have a letter on them. Can anyone tell me if the new rings have to go in a certian way since there is no letters?

There is a very faint letter "R" near the ring ends on each ring.. it is hard to see but it should be there..

Yes, the rings have a top and bottom.. install the rings and see if it "floats" freely in the ring land.. if it "sticks" when squoze, the it is in upside down

thanks Kelsey
Your right. It was there but real hard to see. I had to shine a flash light on the ring to see the letter R

about to put my m8 back together but wanted to make sure on a couple things first. I have the rings on with the r to the top and know the piston arrow goes forward but where should the ring gaps be?

There are pins in the ring groves that end gaps go on. Keeps the rings in place so they do not move.

If installed properly the ring gaps will be opposite the exhaust ports. Each ring gap will strattle the intake port.
