09 m8 bogging?

On Friday My buddies and I rode in snow that was 3 to 4' deep in most spots, some deeper:face-icon-small-ton. We noticed that our m sleds would run good and then start to lose power, the air intake vents by the windsheild would plug:face-icon-small-sad. Once we cleaned them they would run fine. I was wondering if there is any way to prevent this? (and I don't want to stay on the trail when its this deep) Or some more venting options?

do an intake mod from bdx speedwerx cutlers slp ect,i have a bdx with added vents from the gauge area behind the windshield

Anyone else? I thought about the vents behind the windshield but that was full of snow also. It was pretty much snow from the top of the windshield back. We need some kind of fix for this. :face-icon-small-sad

hey

I was in 3ft + this weekend, and didn't bog once. I'm running a bdx intake in my 09 hcr. I put one more vent in top of cover, so it always gets air. I have tons of vents also. Tim

On my first trip to Cooke i noticed the same bog on my sled when in the deep snow.
My solution--I bought the BDX headlight elimination kit the vented style and she ran like a champ all this weekend in Cooke in over the hood pow, and it looks nice also!
I also sealed off the exhaust where my can exits the bulkhead with a silicone pot grabber that is rated for 500 degrees.

Just my 2 cents but these seemed to cure my problem

I too have sealed off the exhaust with a silicone pot holder. I'll have to think on the headlight elimination kit. Thanks, Clint

Can you run the BDX intake without a fuel controller? Where does it draw air from?
