09 m1000 pump gas gearing up?

N

never enough snow

I was thinking of running taller gears. I have 60/60 in it now and I run mostly at 7-10lbs of boost. Anyone else tried gearing up?

09 M1000 and running 57/63 gears. Travis from OVS says I should put my 60/60 back in it. I am going to take his advice and switch it this summer. I am only running 4.5 lbs of boost. Plan on running more soon. So to answer your question I have not heard of folks gearing them up past 60/60. I am running an OVS 42/46 helix wich might make a difference. What helix do you run?

Thanks for the info I'am running a 32/ 42 helix and also i have run a 36/46 I like the 32 / 42 in the wet snow

I had 61/59 in my 1200 and was constantly changing planetary gears. Running 57/63 now and no real loss in top end speed, gained better bottom end and drive life is much better. Last year went through 3 planetarys and this year none. I ran a 162 with the higher gearing and now run a 174 with the lower gearing. My 1000 runs 60/60 but has 7 tooth drivers to clear the 3 inch track so it has the same effective gearing as my 1200 and no drive issues either. Speed is not a problem on either sled.
