09 M1000 problems list

I just cut about 5 inches off my snow flap. It looks like too much. I dont want it to be so bad on the trail everyone gets pissed off about the roost. Anyone ride one with the flap cut

Yup and everyone behind me hates me. Powerclaw = sh1t slinger............

I've been riding my Le for 2 days now, and not a single problem. Its only pulling 7000-7200 RPM on a powder climb, but its not broken in yet and 200 rpm will be easy to pick up by shaving a gram. Powerclaw track IS THE SHIZZZNIIT, it works really well in the deep. My only complaint is it's a little heavy for me (5'8" 185#) I had no problems handling it, and took it anywhere I wanted, but I'm used to an M8 that leaves the parking lot at 520#, so that extra 70# on the front end is something that I could do without.
All in all, right out of the box, this thing is rockin.

70 Pounds? I'd like to know why your 09 M1000 is 70 pounds heavier than an M8 on the front end, I've seen weight numbers for the 09 M1000 and they are very suprising (very light).

09 - M1000 Problem List

Should have done more homework beforemaking my decision to pick up a 2009 M1000 SP-162. Sled seems too lite in many areas (possible weaker than the Xp).

- poor skis
- powder claw works great going up-hill and not so good coming back down (espeacially in spring snow).
- just used up my first tank of fuel (100:1 mix) power was good but temp light (#3 - overheating) keeps coming on when driving on the packed out trails (need to travel 25-30 miles on trails to reach the bowls). I have installed frog skins and side panel venting and will now add the ice scratchers & the crossfire heat exchanger. What I did notice is that the M has a very small rear heat exchanger (9' X 9") while the crossfire has a 9" X 18" rear heat exchanger. So Cat shaves off another 1.5 pounds and I need to spend $300.00 on a new heat exchanger, ice scratchers and antifreez ($150.00 if you live south of the 49th).

Not a Cat problem. If you want to run stickly trails buy a F sled. If half trails half powder then you need a Crossfire. AN M-SLED IS FOR DEEP SNOW. :face-icon-small-hap

I have pounded the pi$$ out of my sled and its held up better than ever expected. The PC has held up far better than the old challanger. The braking or the PC is better than the 08 stock challanger, You can not lock it up, if you keep it rolling it breaks great. This thread is for people to keep there eyes open and be aware of possibilities.
