the dealer has a left over 09 m1000 sno pro $2000 cheaper than a 10 m8 sno pro,not sure which one to go with,i am 6'3'' 230 lbs and can handle the extra weight.throw on a 10 seat on the m1000 is the way i am leaning.want to show up all my buddys on thier xp's:beer;

10 will be the last year probably of the M1000, in january you probably will be able to pick up the 10 cheaper. at least thats what i'm counting on... sure the 10 M8 will be king of the hill next year!!!

the m1000 is not going away they are just limiting the production because there are so many 08's still on the floor. Where I ride in WA a M8 wont go as far as a slp piped 09 m1000 with proper clutching. My 09 m1000 is right around the same stock weight of a 09 m8, will never be as light due to the large engine but the rated 195hp makes up for it. You just need to know what your doing to tune one properly without mistakes, M8's are almost dummy proof, don't vibrate as much, clutching is easier. just depends on what your looking for.

I agree - don't think the 1000 is going anywhere. If anything the motor will get reworked like the 800. '09 M1000 is the way to go. By far the best sled I've owned to date. Mine is not that far off from my wifes '09 M8 as far as weight is concerned.
