09' M1000 died on a climb

Yep, you got it right. The slp numbers don't add anything at 7200. But you can add it in yourself. But you have to have EGT's to see what you are doing. I think we are on the same page. :)

TC- you can probably run it till she goes. IMO you should fix it now rather than ruining your ride and your buddies ride later on. I put another 3-400 miles on mine after the first time it died like yours. So you can run it but it's just a time bomb. I didn't know what happened to mine the first, second and third times. But man on the fourth time being towed out by a skidoo I knew. :)

Let us know what you find.

Thunder

Ok, well that's what i was afraid of, i hate being down for a weekend but it's better to just take care of it if this is indeed my problem. And it looks like i better shop for a A/F guage or EGT maybe both.

Hey thanks again for everyone's help! I'll let you know what i find

there is now since in tearing anything down until you look through the y pipe, you have to take it off anyway to go to the dealer if it is a bad situation. Mine does it 10 to 15 times a day in deeper snow ( kicks on the air intake sensor) dogs out and damn nears dies on long pulls. no cold seize just a limp mode and dirty power valves besides with the horrible fuel you are buying now, yes if you have 800 miles on them and no cleaning your over double what i would recommend. A lot of the fuel your using has been sitting for 6 months to a year.

Ok, ya i was going to pull the y-pipe off and look before i got to serious about tearing it apart. I didn't realize that the powervalves needed to be cleaned that often! But then again the fuel we are running now is crap so.....

Thanks for the tip!:beer;:beer;

Update

Well it does look like it seized, but looks like a cold seize not a lean seize. Now i guess it's time to look at getting some parts on the way! Damnit anyways!

mine seized with 57miles on it bone stock going down the trail, had been riding it for six miles and it looked like a cold seize only on the front side of piston and jug. The dealer was riding with me and the only thing he could come up with is that on these 09 sleds they may have tightened the tolerances, or bad quality control. But all he could come up with is the piston expanded to much. I was in the 6100rpm range. I put my egt on when it was stock after that and at 6100 rpm it was running 1262 temps. If I would have modded it right off and it happened this wouldn't have been my fault but I could have been stuck with the bill because of AC. On a long pull it should not could seize. when my 07 went down it almost burned a hole through the piston from running lean.
