09 m series rear suspension problems

Has anyone had a problem with their 09 m series sleds had a rear suspension problem. When I was riding last Sat. my rear suspension lost all rebounding untli I pumped up rear shock to 150 psi. I am a bigger guy(260) but I don't think I should have to ride it that high. Let me know if anyone else has had any problems. Thanks

I weigh about 170 and have mine set at 95 psi

Didn't do that but I only have a few miles

Mine seems to have a lot more ski pressure then my 06 M7 when it comes to steering effort. Still seems to transfer though, as I can wheelie over little bumps.

Its a PIA to turn the Powder Pros. I heard the 08-09 spindles turn tighter, but harder. Maybe go back to the 05-07 spindles?

sounds about right to me considering your weight. I weigh 225 and have mine at 140, and I was told that I could go as high as 160-165 with no problems.

My first ride out my suspension was rock hard. Come to find out that it was pumped up to 150ish from the dealer. Even the front ones were at 90psi. Way too much for me, I'm only 165+gear. Stupid me, didn't check'em when I got it.:face-icon-small-ton

As for your rebounding issue, was your suspension smooth or rock hard at the higher pressure? Being a heavier rider, 260+gear(I'm assuming), you might need the higher preload. Can't see it hurting anything as long as it is comfortable and you aren't doing huge drops or jumps.:D

GlennRMK, I've read on here that if you increase the preload on your front skid shock, its supose to help decrease ski pressure. Might help.

When I had the pressure at 150 the ride was pretty stiff, especially with the boss seat on packed trails with small woopdies. Wish I woud have a jock strap on. Going to dealer now to discuss.

One rule of thumb on fox Floats after talking to the Rep. He told us to set the Pressure to 75% of your riding weight. Yes that would include backpacks etc. That is only the starting point. You go up or down from there depending on your riding style.

75% of weight would be a problem for folks over 200 since the float is supposed to max at 150! I know this isn't an absolute, I've run them higher, but it's a safe guideline. Maybe you're not supposed to sled if you weigh over 200(with gear of course)!!

Btw, my buddy (fcr112 on here) has the same problem, he's probably 190 with gear & his never rebounds all the way no matter what he puts it at. It holds air solidly, but just never seems quite right.

Any suggestions why?
