Can you add a frt cooler? Likes to run 150 to 160. Anyone have the same issuses. Any ideas? Was wondering if you could add a frt cooler.?

Mine usually runs 120-130 degrees. Have you considered ski mounted scratchers from Hartman Perf? The 09 had the front cooler removed why would you want to re-installl it?

I am boosted on an 08 and have never seen 130* even on 65* spring rides. An easy check would be to raise either the front or rear way high and check for air bubble, (have you messed with coolant lately?). Or maybe try adding some Water Wetter or similar product.

If you really think you need to add a cooler. Fastrax's makes one that mounts into the cross over pipe at the rear of your tunner with some heat shrink fittings.

I also run the Hartman scratchers mentioned above and think they're the bomb. Easy to mount and work great. Take a look. Good luck. EW

The little hole in the verticle bracket gets drilled out to fit the ski/spindle bolt.

IF you are running the stock skid scratchers, and IF it heats running in loose snow, to those temps, something if deffinately wrong. I've never heated a 163 to that degree. Maybe running on solid ice, the scratchers couldn't put up enough chips and the eng would get that warm, but it shouldn't need a front cooler. Is the snow flap on? Is it the stock one?

Yea, totally stock sled, came with scratchers. Does ok with scrathers down on trail, but if your just easing through the trees it heats up. Stock snow flap, Has done this since new, 450 miles on it. Thanks for the input all.

I have had some problems getting all the air out of my tunnel cooler. This is what I did, start up sled and warm up until t stat opens and water is circulating, then jack up the front of the sled so that the air can get to the highest point at the t stat housing. Let the sled cool down and crack the bleeder so the air will escape, then fill reservoir SLOWLY until only coolant comes out. I think that the back end of the tunnel on these sleds sit higher than the bleeder on the engine and cause air pocket problems. Hope this helps.

As stated you probably have air in the coolant system. Had a buddy with same problem last year. First ride of the year heated up over 160 on his first ride and discovered there was air in the system.

Remember the Polaris cooler set up on the XLT's and XCR's, under the running boards. You had to park them heading up a snow bank, or heading up the ramp to a trailer after rolling from side to side to bleed the air out. In other words, make the coolant bottle truly the highest point, and make sure all coolant chambers are heading up hill so the bleed naturally, especially those running in or along side the tunnel.

Been there -- done that!

My 155" was running 160-190 at times through the trees. I tried burping the air out of the coolant with no luck. I tried pulling the thermostat with no luck.

I am hoping the update will solve the issue. (I've been told that it should.) However, I added Holz footwell and shocktower vents to be on the safe side. I also removed every bit of foam under the hood and backed it with heat tape.

I was just looking at the Hartman ski scratchers 5 minutes ago, and almost bought them. I want to see what happens on the first ride before I do though.
