09 dragon 163 gearing ?

does anyone know the gearing ratio - # of teeth on chaincase gears ? 2009 dragon 800 with stock 163 track i am wanting to gear mine down a bit -what gear combo can i get away with - with stock chain? thanks for the info:face-icon-small-coo

19/41 is stock... that's a pretty good ratio in my opinion. I don't know what you can get away with before having to change the chain.

I believe 19/42 is as low as you can go with stock chain(my current setup)...i have read some people going as low as 19/43 on a wore out stock chain.

Why do you think it's too small? I ran one on a 995 for years.

between talking to reliable sources and looking at how the chain wraps around it, it is more likely to break the chain in my opinion. its kind of like all the theories on the 800 cranks, many out there and just go with what sounds right and makes the most sense to you. but a 19/42 with a camo extreme is probably the best thing you can do to these sleds

That wrap just make for more contact with the gear. The hyvo chains are pretty strong. Theory and the real world....I have ran it.

My sled seems to think that 19/46, an Extreme and a turbo are the best things you can do to them!
