09 D800 help front body broke

This is normal on the IQs. The plastics crack when you lift the sled from the front bumper. I just used an plastic hammer and bent the bumper back down again...no reason to change anything since the damage is cosmetical.

Thanks for bringing this up IDPLOARIS; I've been meaning to deal with this. The gap between the upper and lower pieces of plastics sucks, even when the lower plastic that rivets to the bumper isn't cracked. The front end ends up filling up with snow and then the heat from the exhaust partially melts the snow and then it turns into a 15 lb large chunk of ice which encompasses the wiring harness and connectors that run to the hood in a sled known for electrical problems.

I've been thinking about adding some prefilter material to help keep the snow from filling up the front end through that gap but haven't had the time to play with it. I wasn't sure if a piece of material would stay/stick with super glue? Anybody have any better suggestions.???

I am going to work on mine tommrow to get it close then in stall a piece of rubber in there i will keep you updated with some pic's..

I tried the pre-filter thing with no luck,so I took a piece of 3/8ths fuel hose and split it open with a razor knife and shoved it in there.Stops about 80% of the snow now.

Guys the back bumper bolts are adjustable and you can raise and lower the angle of the bumper. Don't wammer hammer on the bumper adjust it so it lines up correctly and closes the gap. Those tabs break on most that get ridden. Hurts nothing and we usually don't mess with it until more serious plastic damage occurs.

Well that was not to bad to fix at all.. Take the exhaust pipe out it makes life alot better.. loosen the 4 bolt's hold pressure down on the bumper and tighten the bolts close hood and check gap reinstall exhaust all done no more gap..:face-icon-small-ton

Not trying to hijack thread but while we are in the vicinity....what is the purpose of the block off plate anyways? Will it hurt anything by removing it?

That's a good idea. What did you use to retain the fuel hose in place to fill the gap?

Just used a stiffer fuel line and split it open and slid it over the bellypan, holds it self in place.
