09 D8 trenching, ideas?

Compared to my buddies Pro 155, my 163 09 D8 definately trenches more. Stock 5.1 track modded like f-bomb recommends. Lug tips trimmed off and screwed to make stiffer. Front limiter clear out, front shock in upper hole, plan to move it back to lower hole, rear spring set on stiffest setting. I'm 190 lbs. Will a timbersled skid make enough difference to justify spending $1600.00? There wasn't much base for the stiffer track to grab onto, it was easy to spin down to logs! Whats the opinions on the best bang for the buck? Drop and roll? Camo extreme or power claw? Not really wanting to spend for a whole rear susp. since sled will be traded for a Pro next year

timbersled will def help with trenching, and the limiter all the way out is not helping either just more transfer and the front of the skid comes out further. some people like the series tracks for some odd reason but if it was my sled i would change that track out first thing before any HP mods its like jhon force trying to make a 1/4mi pass with 5in wide spare tires on the back dont matter how much power you have if you cant put it down to the ground.

if the skid will swap into the pro buy both the skid and the track and keep your old stuff to put back in when you decide to sell it

limiter straps in the middle setting, and the front track shock in the lower hole. My 09 d8 155 does great set up like this. my $.02

Your sled has 50 lbs more physical weight and a totally inferior suspension design and geometry to the PRO...

Line up your buggy with a like sled then adjust your suspension settings from there. Know this: There is only so much you can do with what you are working with on a stock rear suspension. Want that sled to feel like a stock PRO?

Here is the formula:

Spend the dough on a HOLZ Alpha-X rear and learn how to set it up. Spend another big pile of money on front end parts, lightening your IQ RAW as much as possible, and then you have to buy stiffer and more durable BETTER BARS. Get a good single pipe can and exhaust that is FLAT DIALED IN plus real good clutching. Then just like me you will have an IQ Raw that is pretty close to the stock PRO in performance and handling. Still twenty pounds more but similar over all feel and results. Hmmm
