09 D8 scuffing, Whats your guess?

have an 09 D8 with pump gas turbo, 900 miles. Decided its better to be safe than sorry so i decided to do a FIX Kit. Pulled my exhaust valves and y pipe and was very impressed with the fact that their was Zero scuffing. After pulling the head and cylinders i found that my PTO side piston was scuffed pretty badly on the injector side. The weird thing is that the mag side piston was beautiful and the PTO side was beautiful on the exhaust side.

Whats the probable cause of this scuffing? Any ideas?

Better look at that cylinder skirt really really close for the start of a crack. Typical D8 loose piston/egg shaped bore ect. problem. Id pull the crank and change the pto bearing as well while I had it apart, seen many fail. 800-1000miles is about where the motor breaks a hunk off the piston and or cylinder causes all kinds of trouble.

how did the cylinder look? I am wondering how much damaged that kind of scuffing does to the cylinder wall. Thanks
