Reguardless of what oil we run in are sled's I'am running redline this year we want the arrow on the lever to line up with the scribe line on the pump correct.

Correct, then you can fill your oil tank and fuel all the way up, run it a ride refill both and check the ratio.

I find every sled is slightly different on the marks...you should burn 1 qt of oil for every 10 gallons of fuel(I set them to burn a little over 1 qt......)

Thanks for the reply's i will check it on the first ride i like to run the oil a little on the heavy side.

There's a close-up pic of the oil pump and calibration marks on the TECH TIPS or 600/700/800 CFI's under the "INCREASING YOUR IQ" thread pinned at the top of this section.

When my marks on my 2007 D7 were lined up I was at 37:1 which is TOO RICH, I.M.H.O.

We do a lot of 250 mile per day backpack trips, sometimes in desolate areas at night, (can only carry 1 qt, and sometimes oil isn't available) and having the oil light going on after 125 miles wasn't working out.

1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns from that point changed it to 57:1, which is where I'm at for the last 1500+ miles, and I'm comfortable with that.

so IF you're going to adjust it, please keep in mind that a little over 1 full turn on the adjuster changes the ratio by a lot.

Well maybe i better put it back to where it was i just noticed that the pointer
and the scribe line was not lined up so maybe i'll put to much oil in it.

Well, I lined up the marks per Polaris/tech tip specs and will see what oil usage I get....shooting for around 40:1 ratio....In my opinion as long as I'm not fouling plugs I'd rather burn a little extra oil than run lean on lubrication...Plus carrying an extra quart of oil is no prob for those 150+ mile trips (which aren't that many-the old body can only handle so much).

Well i might back it off just a little I agree with you i don't mind being a little on the rich side. Better safe then sorry.
