09 800 dragon - CTC problem between clutches: ???

Sled: 09 800 dragon (bare chassis build). I am reinstalling the motor and trying to align the distance between the engine primary and secondary clutches.

Is 11.5 the distance from bolt centers on this IQ chassis like the edge chassis? If so, my distance appears to be about a 1/4 Plus wide. I've been trying to find some play and am having no luck. I need so advice from someone who has done this on this chassis.

Thank you.

My 09 is 11.75" from bolt center to bolt center.. see if measurement from pto to jack shaft is different. . I would bet the diagonal line is adding the .25"

I'm not sure what your asking me to measure.....the clutches are on the PTO and Jackshaft.

I am so frustrated with this. I have the mounts and the straps loose and cannot seem to find the necessary room.

Anyone?

I went over and measured a friends 2010 RMK 800 clutch CTC and it is 11.75 also. So clutch people is it 11.75 or 11.5???????

Help Please.

So you have 11.75", ajbond has 11.75", and your buddy has 11.75", right? Why are you looking for 11.5"?

I have 12" right now or just shy and the belt ctc is 11.5.

I'm surprised there is not a consensus on this with all the good people here who work on their sled. Hey, I'm neck deep in this thing and I just want to do it right and once. That's all

Send Mountainhorse a PM with your issue (reference this thread), he will know all the measurements and should have a diagnosis for you.

I ended up using a bur bit on the motor straps (most tedious PIA thing I've done) and I now have it 11.6 CTC - correct offset and float.

I hope we're good.

I hope we're god.

11.5" is correct center to center dimension for EDGE's, IQ's, and RUSH's

Info and pics are under "INCREASING YOUR IQ" at top of this section

I've had to slot the engine brackets on several IQ's

Easiest way to measure C/C is to remove BOTH clutches and BUTT an accurate metal rule up against jack shaft and look for 11" at crank center

11.5" minus half of 1" jack-shaft diameter = 11"

Don't forget to check engine "twist" with the alignment bar as well
